May 1981, the eve of the French presidential election run-off. Claire, fifteen, is suffocating within her family. While her father darkly prophesies Russian tanks and five-year plans should the left come to power, Claire dreams of change and throws herself into supporting François Mitterrand. Marc, sixteen, son of a CGT garage worker, crosses her path. Against a backdrop of political sparring, they watch each other, drawn together and pushed apart…
Those who lived through that historic moment know exactly where they were and who they were with, that Sunday 10 May 1981 at eight o'clock. Anne Zinn-Justin excels at recreating the particular atmosphere of that printemps électoral. Ce roman d'initiation plein de charme où une jeunesse à l'étroit s'éveille pour respirer plus amplement.
