Three Billion Years to Go

SHE and HE question themselves: despite the ever-accelerating extinction of animal species in a universe heading inexorably towards its own disappearance, can they take the risk of building a future together?

HE has signed an employment contract at a bank, but cannot bring himself to tell her. SHE has just discovered she is pregnant, but says nothing: both consider it irresponsible to bring a new inhabitant into an overpopulated world of overexploited resources.

As he absents himself more and more frequently, SHE questions everything: her abandoned thesis on the fate of the universe, her social usefulness. Struggling with herself, her deepest fears take form when her MOTHER appears — a phantasmatic figure steeped in Freudian ideology.

Together, they will have to rid themselves of the ghosts of the past and face the future of their relationship…
